Deen Beton GmbH, a specialist demolition contractor,
employed two Webster Schaeff WS 120 TCUs for the demolition
of reinforced concrete storage bunkers in Gerlin, Germany.
The Webster Schaeff TCU has many advantages over traditional
methods of demolition being quieter, more accurate and
produces less vibration.
The TCU also removes the steel reinforcing bar. The
cutting heads feature breakers that restrict curring
depth whilst preventing excessive build up of steel
bar around the drums.
The low vibration levels produced by TCUs were especially
important on this particular application; the storage
bunkers were situated close to a power station, where
excessive vibration could have caused serious damage
to a nearby chimney stack. |
