Rapid Ballast Loading Machines

Using its years of experience in the development and construction of tunnel heading machines, Terex has designed this special loading machine for reconstructing railway track foundations

In numerous operations, Schaeff's Vanoliners have performed to the full satisfaction of their users, day by day, and contributed to greater productivity and efficiency in reconstructing railway track foundations.

The powerful loading machine used in this project is the Schaeff-ITC 312 VANOLINER excavating the "old" railbed along with the track foundation before providing the transfer of the excavated material in line with the track without impairing the neighbouring track. The new method permits the efficient and speedy filling and cost-effective use of the bunker shuttle wagons involved.

The rail reconstruction system is mainly destined for short single and multi-track lines as well as railway lines which can only be repaired by night as they have to be used in the daytime.

As excavation, loading and conveyance take place in line with the track, the slewing of the conventional crawler excavators is no longer required, allowing for the parallel tracks to be used at the same time.

The Schaeff-ITC 312 VANOLINER is equipped with an integrated on-board conveyor system boasting a maximum capacity of 400 cubic metres per hour. The crawler-type undercarriage permits the usual working operations on the on-site railbed. An additional rail-borne chassis permits the haulage on the tracks in the trainset formation.
